I am at the start of creating a tile based game with some friends. The game will have different rooms the player can enter and each room will have some puzzle to solve or something like that. I am starting to think about how the game will be organized. I am using C++ and SDL for programming but for organizing the game components. I'm thinking a room will be an object, any characters will be objects. Then lets say for the human controlled character it will have a method to handle events, and a method that moves the x and y so the player can move around the screen, however, i am confused about how the graphics part works. The player obviously has some sprites associated with it, so do these become attributes of the object and the object would include methods to draw it to the screen and then how does that fit in with the whole thing of handle input, draw objects, update screen sort of loop that happens while playing the game? Thanks.

So i took a look at those 2 and it seems like they just handle audio, sprites, key input, but sdl handles all that already, ive looked at many programming languages, libraries, engines and the like and my questions still remain, how do you handle audio, key input, animation when you have multiple entities being drawn and different sounds associated with them, how do you organize it so it all works together, do you just put all that as attributes of the object? I dont think my questions are programming specific, you could use any library, engine you want and those techniques will still remain. I guess my question is more on technique then engine or library. I have 1 technique down and thats drawing different images at different tiles based on the number in the 2d array. But now how does the rest interact with that, what about collision stuff, is that put in the room object to keep track of which items in that room a player can collide with or interact with in some way? I was playing far cry 2 and noticed that the music would become more tense when you fired your weapon whether your in battle or not so its like they used the event of firing your weapon to trigger the change in music. Stuff like that i need to figure out. Thanks.
