What did I do wrong? 1. download cygwin, and follow install wizard, had all default components checked, and also checked some additional components (this installs GCC for me, unless I'm completely mistaken) 2. download code blocks, and follow install wizard, selected GCC as default compiler Code blocks didn't detect GCC during install (but it detected VC express, but I still selected GCC as default compiler because I think I'd have it installed after installing Cygwin, and GCC is what I'd like to use), so it doesn't know which compiler to point to, and I couldn't find a way to point it to the correct location. Another problem seems to be that the g++ executable is named g++-3.exe instead of g++.exe in my cygwin installation. Do you need to do some manual configuration stuff to make things work? Did the cygwin or code blocks installation fail? Should I uninstall everything and start over?

Have you set up the PATH variable to the cygwin/bin directory?
