It's 57 per month.

I'm not stopping to look for a woman. I moved into book writing, too bad most woman is already married and old (young ones too busy with their career to write a book here, at least at the club / group I'm joining)

So I bought a left handed guitar and try to move into the indie music scene. But this is a many pronged attack.

I went for local IGDA meeting, mostly males - but this is to be expected, heh.

I want to give this special "parent" a year or two. If I failed to get them, then advert at OSU it will.

Wow $57 / month. That's insane to the membrane, you must really live in a ghetto - this is somewhere in malaysia right? Maybe I can come visit for a month or so, when I'm between contracts. :) If living expenses are so little, why don't you freelance online, you'd be living like a king. Most contracts I do make around $400/day, but they're on-site, there are some which allow you to work remotely for similar rates (this is AS2/AS3 Flash, Silverlight, ASP .NET, PHP). That's what you should do IMO. Sometimes a good way out of a shitty problem is by throwing money at it.
Wow, after a few day of inactivity, I didn't know someone did post something later on.

ichidan, not really a ghetto. But a room. Small room. But yeah, it's cheap where I live. It actually an ex-shoplot that being divided with wooden walls to create small rooms. And you live inside that room. There is two toilet and two bathroom , shared between all those that lives there. Welcome to my life, simple plan style.

What is the best place to freelance online? Anyway as a start I prefer to do thing locally - I now have translation certificate from ITNM (http://www.itnm.com.my/). But for now my hand is too tight up, day job and night class - weekend used to work on assignment, reading, etc.

Anyway, an update : Today I just sent her an Happy Mother's Day card. I'm sure it take a while to arrive in the US.

I currently working on a memoir - on whatever free time I have - usually to rest my brain after all those studies and work. I will soon publish it on Lulu.

1) Join linkedin.com - It's like Facebook, except it's for work (showcase your portfolio and CV), get connections, and join groups. I mostly look for Flash contracts, So I'm part of Flash Freelancers groups. - There seems to be quite a lot of remote work on there, although Personally I've not taken up such contracts, all my contracts have been on site in london.

2) There are sites specifically targeted at outsourcing, freelancing. such as http://www.guru.com/ and http://www.scriptlance.com/ . I've only briefly looked into them, I think they're more lucrative to people living in 3rd world conditions, such as yourself - no offense.

You could also apply to work for a multi national company. I've worked at two digital agencies in London, and they have sites all over the globe, and from time to time there are always people from their India base coming to London to work and vice versa. So this could be a way of getting your green card/visa.

You seem like a bright guy, but you keep missing the boat...

Money can't buy love. But it sure makes it easier to sort your life out.
Thanks for the pointer, ichidan. Maybe after I graduate I'll look into it. My hand is pretty tied right now.

Yeah, you are right about missing the boat. I don't know why, but my life is always like that.

for example there is this game dev compo right here in Malaysia - previously my pc was stolen before the game dev compo. then i was in economy bad shape. after finally managed to have a computer, the rules was changed to require minimum two person, and i failed to make a team in time. Now that I furthers my study, it also add a new rules that ruled out student from participating (previously students can compete, and they does compete). I think it something related to some university sue for IP thing, but I can't remember if that was a news item in Malaysia or US.

Anyway, too many thing in my life is like that - not lucky. As in luck means preparation meet opportunity.

I just keep on missing the boat. :-(

Anyway, I'll check the link and try to do some extra cash on semester break. need to pay for current study and save for future MBA anyway.
