Positions are filling up. I am still looking for a few flash programmers, and artists to work under our Lead Producer, who is handling PHP/Flash. The lead producer php/flash coder has put out two commercial games and started right here at gamedev.net.

This will be a fantastic project for anyone who has the skills!

Percentages range from 5%-10% per person based on skill level and commitment.

This is a legal venture.

Do you have a portfolio online of your works? We're going for an extremely professional and crisp look, and we have already decided on our games presentation of style. We have 4 artists currently battling for the lead position.

I haven't put any vector art up yet, but I plan to put some up that I've been working on in the next few days. I don't need a lead position especially If ya have someone in mind who inspires you.

I sure hope you don't get influenced too heavily by that game. It's the most stupid thing I've ever seen. I tried it out and you're literally punished by not being able to play more than a few matches a day.

Then I tried out their dinorpg game which punishes you by forcing you to only have one turn per hour unless you pay gold for some potion that lets you take an extra turn.. of course you run out of money and potions fast and are then left to either wait or pay REAL money for gold so you can buy more stupid potions.

I've never seen a company so devoted to driving away players by forcing them to not be able to play their games.

These are actually great points, and we're only influenced by the overall theme of the game. Our goal is give the players "hours" of play time a day.

I have a couple of questions:

1) What will be the art style of the game? Cute, Realistic, Manga, Western Comic?
2) What is the time line for completion? Is this a project that will take 2 months, 6 months, a year?
3) What has currently been completed? Is there a design document, specifications? Anything tangible?
4) You are planning something much larger than mybrute. In general, the revenue generated by flash games is not big enough to invest a huge amount of time or effort. I am wondering what warrants a much larger time investment for your game? Do you have something unique that will generate high interest and revenue, or is it just bigger?

For me, the project currently sounds like a lot of work, with little reward. But I could be wrong. So this is your chance to take my doubts away.

1. Cute, but Violent. Extremely Gory. Not Anime, Not Manga, Not Chibi, Not Western, a mix of everything.
2. This project is estimated to be a 6 month project, w/ continuous content added, similar to an MMO style update.
3. The Design Document is well underway, and concepts are being completed to define the style of the characters, weapons, arenas, logo, graphic interface, etc.
4. Flash Games, and I-phone Games warrant very large cash flows through advertisements, and premium subscriptions.. further more I have other ideas for revenue streams as well. I think you should really purchase some analytical reports from a company that specializes in online entertainment, you might pleasantly surprised - especially for i-phone.

The project is a lot of work from an art/content perspective, but for the foundation of the system it's not much. Please keep in mind neither myself, or Raymond are new to game design - we've been doing this for years, and understand the industry and would not make a decision to waste our valuable time. All of our developers so far have experience in the industry on this project as well.

On side note, your Galactic Bowling Game has a really cool style! Kudos on having the guts to be different.

I've contributed to projects run by each of them (Justin Joseph and Raymond Jacobs), and both guys have been great to work with. So, anyone who joins up should enjoy the experience. Both of them are very dedicated, and fun to collaborate with.

I very much look forward to seeing how this game will turn out.

Thank you for the reply. That clears things up quite a bit for me. I agree with you, coding the game should not be the problem. I have been building a flash game for the last couple of weeks, and the art creation definitely takes up most of my time. Development is really fast in flash, once you get used to it. 6 months sounds very doable to me.

I currently have my hands full with some other projects, but I might team up with you on a later date if you still need coders. Maybe we can exchange contacts, I am very interested to hear about your approaches to generate revenue.

Good luck!
