Please delete this. Oh and I have decided to not publish any games from here. I have been involved in sales and marketing for various software. I said that I am new to publishing games, hence the reason I do not have any games published yet. But I did say I have sales and marketing experience which I would use to help promote the game. I was a freelance web designer at a time, which is how I used to make money, and that is the reason I could provide a complimentary website. I am sorry if my website is such a huge turn off to you, and I even agreed to talk to everyone individually which I guess is not acceptable by you. And AJirenius, I would just like to tell you that maybe you should be a bit more nicer. I understand that you are a bit skeptical and that you are trying to give advice, but I think you should do it in a different manner. Honestly, it is a huge turn off to be talked to by somebody who talks like you. [Edited by - GrandGames on May 28, 2009 5:37:48 PM]

Some information would be good.

I can't find anything on your "site" about publishing or your experience. All it has is a few small notes about a game in development and a youtube video of your logo. Maybe I just missed it.

You say you do business with companies like Steam. Presumably, therefore, you know that Steam is not a company. Steam is a service. Valve is the company. What business do you do with Valve?

You say you have experience in sales and marketing. Sales and marketing of what? Where can I read about it?

In short, there's nothing of substance here. If I contacted you about my game, I would expect you to ask me who I am, what games I've developed and where they were published. And I would have all the information laid out before I contacted you. However, I would expect the same from you, and I can't find it. Well I suppose I could try to search for it, but I have no idea if you're the Michael Briganti who owns the Artful Hammer or a completely different one.

Ok, this will be a harsh post. I know. But then again I truly believe you need to hear it as well!

Honestly, this is one of the most transparent and stupid scam/joke I ever seen in here. I've been in the game industry for a few years now and also had to deal with both good and bad publishers but I would never, ever even consider Grand Games.

Why?

Let me start with your presentation as a company:
You only got a gmail account to contact you by.
You have not published a single game.
Website:
Your website doesn't even present any of your publishing intentions nor the marketing and sales business
Your website contain of 2(!) entries where one is a really bad short animation of something and your logo and still you dare to call that the presentation?
You don't even host the site in a proper way and the images in there are loaded from Imageshack(!)
STILL you claim to create a "complimentary website" to promote the game even though your own site really SCREAMS unseriousity?

You also are a game development company? All the publishers that has published my work has been dedicated companies with only that as their task. With some seconds of research I can easily see that you are just one guy that wants to get things done and lead stuff.. and hey thats a good thing but don't expect people to believe that you will be able to be a leader of the game development AND create websites for customers (yes a THIRD thing your "company" seems to be doing in here: http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=531940) and then publish a game which takes lots of fulltime working people to actually do.

All I can see is that you got some contacts when creating your indiegame in the steam-community and thats what you are basing your idea of being a publisher on.

So here's the advice:

Stop lying. Both to yourself and to anyone that actually has spent months or even years on a game and are ready to publish it.
You have left fingerprints all over the web with unfinished things/sites/projects and that is ok. But don't you dare dragging another person in this that actually has finished a game!

I would love to be proven wrong but this is what I see today and I would warn anyone to contact you for such a thing as you clearly don't know what it is to publish a game in a good way. Now, if you laid all your other projects aside, could prove a good network of portals and your previous contact with them, showcase a professional website (which you personally claim that you know how to create) I would not write this post.

That's your choice, but people are going to read this and conclude that you're only interested in people who are naive and don't ask the important questions.

Great! What software? I shouldn't have to keep asking. You should be selling yourself to me. "Various software" isn't going to impress anyone, but a list of clients might.

People say lots of things, but it doesn't make them true. I could "say" I'm the Crown Prince of Liberia, but that doesn't make it so. If you want to be taken seriously in business, you actually have to back up your claims.

You haven't convinced me to the point where I would feel inclined to discuss anything with you privately. I'm being pretty generous (I think) and prompting you to provide the information people need. I could have just dismissed you out of hand as AJirenius did and many others will.
