I've been reading through the book "3D Math Primer for Graphics and Game Development". I've found it to be an enjoyable and useful book. For the most part it teaches linear algebra concepts from the ground up, focusing on the uses of it that tend to me more useful for graphics / game programming. Likewise, they do discuss some theory to help you better understand the concepts, but there is a certain point where they lay off on the proofs, not spending several pages proving each theorem for n cases. Finally, there is discussion of "graphics only" math as they bust out the math needed for a graphics pipeline. I was wondering if I could find an "equivalent" AI math book. From what I've seen, AI requires statistics, probability, and discrete structures type math (ie graphs). I'm really not knowledgable on AI, though in seeking it I think it would be useful to have a second book that soley focuses on the math used in AI. Obviously the math would be more application based than proof based. Does anyone know of such a book, or is there a book for another discipline that would meet this purpose?
