I am designing 1 Match 3 game so i was wondering what u people think, what Match 3 games should have to be sold good... I was studying successful games on bigfishgames site and from what i noticed casual players like this - -beautiful cartoon graphic -not too fast gameplay -some of players don't even like TIMING but from what i see most Match 3 games have timing -game shouldn't be too hard -matching should be fluid and fast -THEY DON'T LIKE ORIGINAL GAMEPLAY - at least from what i noticed and this surprised me the most.. So, if i make another rip off , game will sell better? Be free to help me expand this list... Thanks in advance, Kris [Edited by - xraven13 on June 26, 2009 12:31:07 PM]

Don't really agree with the "don't like original gameplay" part. I think it is more of how a game present this original gameplay to players. The problem with original gameplay is that it is original and players do not have any prior experience or knowledge on how to play this game.

If the game ramp up its difficulty too fast, after a few frustrating losses players will stop coming back. But if the game slowly leads the player through the various original gameplay mechanics letting the players play through some simple tutorial games, players may get a better understanding of the gameplay and thus explore and play the game.

Remember these players are supposed to be casual players not hardcore gamers that wouldn't mind wasting hours to learn a game, they probably will lose interest in a game that kills them every 5 mins and goes back to their bejeweled game without any idea what the game was all about.
