(Copied from my Journal.) Link I'll concede it doesn't look like much, but honestly, the game is really addictive and fun. And it's a dollar. One of the technologies in this is the binaural audio system that I discussed earlier. On the above page, there's a linked video -- put on headphones and watch it. You'll get the point very quickly. It's even better in-game than in the video, was my experience. There's also the animation system, which is not really shown off that well here, but it's procedurally constructed, like NaturalMotion (but better, we believe). At no point were any animations build in a modeler. It's all done dynamically using relatively simple rules. The future games will leverage this tech more heavily, but at least as developers I think you can appreciate how awesome that is. The flying, the hits -- it's all physics based. Did I mention it's a dollar? Try it out. And if you do try it out, please take the time to write an honest (and hopefully positive!) review. It'll go a long way for us if you do.

Looks pretty neat, but the tilt controls don't work at all well on my iPhone 3G (steering is really slow, and requires you to tile the phone nearly 90º to start steering in a particular direction).

The game calibrates itself based on the positioning of the phone when you start the level. Maybe you had it in an awkward orientation? It should be fine on every version of the iPhone and iTouch...

Be nice to add the option to disable the auto-calibration, and adjust the sensitivity.

I played around with it a lot more, and the sound is excellent, as are the graphics. Unfortunately, it simply isn't playable on my handset - even by carefully adjusting the starting orientation, I have a sensitivity perhaps 1/10 of that shown in the youtube video.

I guess it is conceivable that this is a hardware problem, but my tilt sensor seems to work fine in other games (such as Spore Origins), and in Apple's sample application that displays raw accelerometer output.

Just installed the update, and I am happy to say that the game now plays beautifully! Any idea what you may have changed that corrected the tilt-sensitivity issues I was having?

I didn't do the update work, I just know there was some retuning of the tilt sensor and a slight assist added for lower levels as well. And it's smaller, thank god.

It certainly worked well - I was able to pass the second level for the first time [smile]

lol - at 77 MB it is still the largest application on my iPhone.
