Hey guys! I have been hard at work on a replacement package for javax.vecmath for a pretty long time now. It's not stable / ready for production usage yet, but we're getting there and I wanted to pick everyones brains. To start with, here is the project homepage: http://santiance.com/jives/ I know *another* vector package/library may be the last thing anyone is thinking about, but this actually brings some interesting new properties to the table. My main goals where performance and maintainability for complex expressions. If you just want to see how the package looks check out the javadoc: http://santiance.com/jives/doc/ And if you just want to bring it all home and play with it either checkout using our Bazaar repository or download the JAR (which contains the source code) from the main page.

You don't mean a + bi, do you? (still reading >_>)

EDIT: you're going to get the real trivial nitpicks with me. :P
On the home page, the whole x + y * 0.5 example - using letters normally used to describe axes like x, y, z etc for variable names may throw off the reader.

Good point, I should change them to other variable names like a, b,c as to no confuse with cardinal axes.

I also updated the homepage (http://santiance.com/jives/) with some information about more things it already does. I don't know if the homepage explains it that greatly, but it does have properties I don't see in other packages.

I've been at work with an SDL binding for Java, which is currently under the works:

http://santiance.com/sdlbits/

There should be some demos that utilize all of these up within the next few weeks. It will use the jives Vector package, with the SDLbits wrapper and glbits GL wrapper. The GL bindings have an optional experimental acceleration extension where evaluation is performed on the GPU.
