Microsoft Internship ...continuation

Came over this interesting post here about Microsoft Internship, http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=469597 , that topic is retired, so opening a new thread. Just to know your valuable comments about someone, ongoing his one year internship@Microsoft as .NET developer, how he can explore further full-time opportunities there. I mean, what the usual process is. Is he supposed to apply for full-time position independently, lets say, some months before he's going to finish the internship? Or MS automatically considers them for new openings?

I've heard around campus from various people (former employees) that microsoft hires 90% of their interns and most of their new-hires are interns. If you have an internship at microsoft, you'd probably get a better and more direct answer by asking your manager.

Yes, ask your manager or HR contact. They offered me a full time position at the end of my internship, but I don't know if the process has since changed.
