I am new to programming and visit this site frequently for info and while each article and tutorial helps, I would like to see an article that very simply displays the tools someone uses to make a game, what they use (i.e. DirectX, OpenGL) and start out witht the very first program you write. Then code examples for other things like map design and keyboards input. All this in one tutorial is alot but think of it as some master tutorial not just covering one thing. i know this is kinda vague but if anyone were to pull it off they would be the hero of amateur game developers everywhere. Me.

I started working on something like this... Then all of a sudden I got swamped with many things to do at once. With school coming up I''ll have plenty of time to waste while sitting through classes, so I may try to get back to writing it then...

May particular idea was an intro into programming, that started with BASIC, so one could learn the foundations of programing, then moves into c/c++. Not sure if that is quite what you are talking about, but it''s close

I have a lot of other projects, so don''t expect me to be one for quite a long time though...
