Cockroaches in Canada

The last time I went to Canada, I didn't see any large insects, especially cockroaches. I wouldn't worry about it.

I grew up in Ottawa. There are cockroaches, but you don't really see them too often. I've seen them in the schoolyard on occassion, especially in spring/fall, but I've never seen one in my house or the appartment I lived in after I moved out.

The worst bugs are the black flies and horse/deer flies. They're not scary and they're not big (black flies are tiny and horse flies look like slightly bigger versions of house flies), but they bite the shit out of you. Their bite isn't dangerous, just itchy/painful.

Pick a clean (newer if you can help it) building and keep your place clean and you shouldn't ever see any.
