Hi there!

Please see this screenshot, and say me, how I can help my ill button.

I use the DWM API for the glass sheet and direct 2D for that dark region. But how do I place a button correctly in there? I've seen that is possible in Paint.Net. (I don't use .net, but win32)

What do you mean by placing it "correctly"? Where should it be?

I mean, how do I get rid of that half transparent look of the button? (Not of the text background, that is fine) When you take a closer look at it, you will see, that it's label is translucent, and it has ugly white borders.

What window styles are you using to create the glass-frame window, and what styles are used on the button window itself?

The glass window styles are: DS_3DLOOK | DS_CENTER | DS_SHELLFONT | WS_VISIBLE | WS_POPUP | WS_THICKFRAME | WS_SYSMENU
And the button has the standard styles of ResEdit.

The glass is done by using DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea().

A few minutes on Google looking for the DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea() function turned up this article which should hopefully provide the solution to your problem.
