Rising Tide
Team name:
No official team or company name yet, but the project is known as Rising Tide.
For now you can just pretend we're named..."Just watering the Owl"

Project name:
Oh, well there we go...the project is called Rising Tide.

Brief description:
Rising Tide is an ambitious, yet stable project that will encompass a broad range of game mechanics and may have custom haptic/feedback devices incorperated. However, this post is about a custom web portal we are coding in order to stay organized and focused.

Target aim:
Rising Tide Developers, possibly released later on as a Project Management Application.

Compensation:
The project is not funded right now, and honestly is just a bunch of people that want to create something awesome with little attention to money. Of course any work you do for the project can be used in a portfolio, and if we finish the web portal, you'll have a good shot at getting in on the game itself, depending on your knowledge of other programming languages as well. Although we don't offer very much tangible compensation, such as income, we have a network of people that you can tap into, including people that have worked at Capcom, Square Enix, and Rare. You'll also be working with other team members and be able to hurdle roadblocks quickly if you get stuck. Basically, if you're all about making money or just want to get the project done and out of the way for "experience", you might want to consider looking elsewhere, but if you have a genuine interest in seeing a project to completion, this might be for you! :)

(Oh, and yes, if the project does make some type of revenue, you'll definitely be a part of that, we don't aim to rip anybody off here!)

Technology:
PHP backend and processing, in conjunction with a MySQL database.
HTML/JS/CSS Frontent, with a small bit of Flash(no knowledge of Flash or AS3 needed for this position)
XMPP server running on a VPS
All hosting and logins provided.

Talent needed:
Specifically, we need 2 different people, somebody that will develope the Frontend of the portal, and somebody that will develop the backend and API calls that can be made from the client. The backend requires knowledge of security

Team structure:
So far, we have maybe 4-5 active artists, 2-3 coders, 2 music people(oh, which is me), and a director/producer(also me). We work over MSN, AIM, and email. Once we get the portal finished however, everything will be centralized! We've got some major talent on the art side as well as the programming side. Here's a list of some amazing people that we're working with:

http://okavango.deviantart.com/ (our main art director)
http://whalewithlegs.deviantart.com (our fill-in art director)
http://bichinhosdanet7.deviantart.com (yeah, she's actually 13)
http://super-fergus.deviantart.com/ (writer, storyboards)
http://www.kazunanakama.com/ (composer, that's me!)
(I'd post some programmers as well, but...I'm not sure they have web pages, they must be so badass that they don't need them? xD)

Website:
Yep, all we really have so far is webspace...we have a separate project as well thats pretty much an IPB. I might post that for reference, but it's developers only, so here's this instead, a small fraction of our old concept art:

(or if you really want to see our old *dead* IPB, http://www.risingtideonline.com)

Previous Work by Team:
Here's some other projects I have worked on:
http://www.dapshow.com
http://www.doublecluepon.com
and some others, but I'm scared of the NDA...

Additional Info:
If you aren't completely turned off by the thought of working on this project, and have time that you can commit, add me on MSN and inquire! I can give you some mockups of the portal to look at...and they are pretty spiffy looking...:D

Feedback:
I don't know how much feedback you'd be able to give us just based on the little info we have given you, but if you seen something you like or don't like, I'd probably just thrilled to hear it(Your project sucks!!!) Well thanks!
