I am experiencing slow shader compile times on my Radeon 4850 when I launch the project from inside the IDE. I am using GNU GCC Compiler and Code::Blocks. If I launch the project executable from windows the compile time is none existent. Has anyone else experienced this? Don't want to disable the shaders just because the compile time is annoyingly slow.

Would be nice to be able to pre-compile the shaders as well, wishful thinking.

I'm afraid I don't know what could cause the long compile times, just wanted to let you know it's possible to pre-compile shaders. Take a look at GetProgramBinary.

Thank you! However, I have aim at OpenGL 2.0 compatibility in my current project. But I will keep this in mind for future projects.

I haven't included any such library myself and can't find any in the project "build options".
