mesh problem

hi friends

I'm working with managed DX using C# (VS 2008), I want to model a plane, it has some rotating parts (small wings which rotate in order to change plane elevation, roll & pitch), what's best solution in order to simulate this state?

I've solved this problem by making several separate X files, one X file for my plane (without rotating wings), and some other X files, so that all X files are pivot centered and all are positioned on (0,0,0).
then I load and render my plane in center of screen and try to position my wing X files on desired positions, in this way I translate and rotate each X file using some formulas in order to have it displayed in the correct way.

is there any better way to handle this case?

how can I have some indicator points on plane body? I want to get rid of translation formulas for wings, so that I can just position my rotating wings on special vertices obtained from plane body, how can I get transformed position of plane vertices? (mesh.vertexbuffer.unlock? can you explain it for me plz)

thanks in advance
