Team name: Oak Development, LLC
Project name: Quote App
Brief description:
The goal of this project is to assemble a team to FINISH and PUBLISH a seemingly simple iPhone app. I am interested in completing the process from start to finish, giving the team invaluable experience and publication credit. The goal is not to make butt loads of money, this is for experience. And while this is not specifically a game, I thought a few talented members of this forum might be interested in this project.
For this specific project we will develop an Inspirational Quote iPhone/iPod/iPad app. I want to point out that this app is not groundbreaking and similar apps are already out there. However, I have not seen any with the customizable features I have in mind and briefly describe in the paid version below.
The free version will deliver daily inspirational or humorous quotes. Also users will have the option to flip through quotes separated into different categories. Users can also choose to save a quote in a favorite’s folder for easier reference. Also a search option to find a quote based off the author or key words. Also users will have the ability to post quotes to Facebook or Twitter.
The paid version has all the features of the free version. The app also becomes customizable (details of the customization will be explained to those choosing to join the team). A few other options and features will be available as well.
Target aim:
Short term: The ultimate short term aim of this project is to FINISH and PUBLISH the app as a free and paid download through itunes.
Long term: My personal motivation for this project is to gain the publication and application development experience to apple to future projects. I am currently pursuing start up funding for a game and software development company. I hope that with the successful completion of this project we can form a long term team with the productive team members. I would also encourage any member of the team to voice their own ideas for consideration as future projects.
Compensation:
I am looking for serious and motivated individuals that are interested in a project that will further their career or gain valuable experience. You should enter this project with the understanding that you more than likely will not be paid for your time. This is a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience and publishing credit without paying the necessary fees to register as an Apple Developer. I will pay this fee as well as any additional cost associated with publication or advertisement and for additional development tools (although free is better). Any revenue gained (and I do not expect much) will be divided among the members of the team based on their contribution to the final product. All agreements regarding compensation will be put into a legal document that all members must sign prior to begining work on the project.
Technology:
Will be developed for the iPhone/iPad/iPod.
Talent needed:
I am looking for those that are serious and will follow through on their commitments. I understand that those working on this project will be doing so in their spare time and as such I plan on setting reasonable timelines to accomplish goals and milestones.
Needed: None.
Team structure:
Marty Myers- Project Coordinator and Lead Designer/Writer.
Alan Fernandez- Programmer
Robert Leung- Programmer
Chris Hodges- Composer
Jon Hayter- Graphic Artist
Andre- Consultant
