I have set up a website for my game with design docs and ideas from me. Most of the gamedesign is in my opinon finished, but some things must still be considered. My game will be some hybrid of warsong, final fantasy tactics and shining force. Not an easy task? Yes indeed. The URL is: http://www.chronocross.de/bt/ Edited by - Jonus on September 26, 2001 6:32:27 PM

I have improved the website of my project.

Please check it out and give me some feedback here please. Answers are VERY welcome,''cause if anything is unclear i must write it down on the site.

Ok, I glanced through it.

1. It''s an awfully hard document to follow. Ok, so you''ve got a map and you''ve got fights? Where from there?

2. What does the player control? How does he control it? What does it play like? I think it especially needed is a writeup of some normal gameplay, so that someone can mentally play through 2-6 minutes of the game in their mind.

3. Make sure that you have a very obvious "next page" link at the bottom that will take you through the document in some sort of order that makes sense.

Thanks ThoughtBubble!

1. This is a gameflow question. You have a worldmap in the game and on the worldmap are locations like towns and points of interest. At these points are sometimes events. And a event == Story&Fight.

2. On the worldmap you can only control the whole party. In the Battlemode you control every single character. 2-6 mins ... i will right that an the website.

3. THATS A GREAT IDEA!

i''ve looked at you site and the first thing that come to mind that you had missed was defence. you charaters can''t defend themselfs in your engine and there was no defence stat i could see anywhere. Is it just me or is that important?. hope this helps. .

You can defend with your evade state(job+special+items), element resistances (you can be imune to physical damage for example), reaction skills and the armor_types have built in defence.

I will put your question up in the faq. Thx btw.

I am working hard to get BT out of design phase, but i had only few time the last seven days and i have a kind of writer''s block.

hi jonus,
you said you''d check my page out so I figured I''d peruse yours. Man, i got more than i bargained for, its obvious youve put a lot into it! didnt have time to read it all, but i like the JAC especially. reminds me of Warhammer FRP. i agree with the above posters, seems like maybe the doc is more for you at this point than someone unfamiliar with what youre doing. try a start page that goes into the high points of your game, like a movie pitch. once theyre sold, they can check out specifics.

ill post again when i have more time.
regards,
jeff
