Phosfiend Systems - new independent studio based in Montreal, Canada, led by Richard E Flanagan.
Project name:
FRACT
Brief description:
FRACT is a first person adventure game, much in the vein of the Myst titles, but with an electro twist. The player is let loose into an abstract world build on sound and structures inspired by electronic music. The game evolved from a prototype that was developed as a student project, and a beta was submitted to the 2011 International Games Festival. It was recently featured as one of the 8 Student Showcase Winners at this year's GDC, and won the award for Best Student Game. The developer intends to expand on the current game to a full release for late 2011/early 2012. The game has a strong visual style, inspired by Tron and Rez, and sound design and music play an integral role in the gameplay.
[color="#1C2837"]Target aim:
A PC/Mac beta is currently available for free, but the full release is intended for retail.
[color="#1C2837"]
