I want to program using Direct3D in C#.
I need to be able to build the program on a system in which I cannot install the SDK.

Is it possible to build programs by putting the required .dll's .lib's .h and .c files in the project directory?

If you want to use C# and Direct3D you have to use XNA (which is a framework, based on Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, that allow you to create DirectX games).

Or you can use SlimDX or SharpDX, which are thin managed wrappers over C++ DirectX interfaces. No need to install anything, just copy assemblies to your project directory and use them.

Yes, that's what installing the SDK does.

There's alternatives to XNA, like writing your own C++ glue layer, or using an existing one like SlimDX.
