Hi everyone

Well first off, my english is not very good, I'm still in school but I hope you can understand my problem.
I'v recently become very interested in programming as a hobby.
So I bought a book about C/C++ and began to implement some simple applications. The next thing I always wanted to try was a simple rotating 3D triangle.
So I did with the latest DXSDK and it worked well

But i can't activate multisampling. Now here's the problem. As long as i set the DXGI_SAMPLE_DESC to 1, 0 everything works fine until
I change the count to 2 or higher. Then, wenn calling SetFullscreenState, I got a lot of strange _com_errors in my debug window. I've searched the whole
internet for some help, but I could not find any.

Here's my simple code to demonstrate my issue:

Did I miss something?
I've set the compiler warning level to maximum to find errors, but nothing.
Well I hope, my english isn't too bad and you can help me on this.

What are the errors you're getting?

Well it looks like this:

First-chance exception at

0x764db727 in

DX11Demo.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: _com_error at memory location 00x0025ee6c..
...

And there is no way I can catch this exception. And it happens when using Alt+Enter or SetFullscreenState.

Those messages are just telling you that an exception was thrown *somewhere* (not necessarily in your own code) and caught. It doesn't necessarily mean that something's wrong. Are any of your DXGI calls returning a failing HRESULT?
David Glauss
David Glauss
No, all works well, no errors at all. And the app doesn't crash in fullscreen mode, it's just those debug messages that worried me.

In that case I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably just something that's happening internally in DXGI to make the fullscreen switch happen.
