All,

Is it possible to use SlimDX without a windows form? I need only fullscreen, and I will not be using any part of a windows form to do anything. SlimDX tutorials (all 3 of them) do not show a way to do this. Tjhey all expect you have a Windows Form. And the other parts of Documentation seem to tell "how to make using windows forms better (see here )", my goal is not need them at all.

thanks.

The device just needs a handle to a window. It doesn't matter how you actually create that window, as long as you can get a handle to it. WinForms is probably the easiest way to do that, but certainly not the only way. You can always drop back to the native Win32 API functions for creating and handling windows.

thanks for the reply, maybe a different way to ask this question is , can I just use a device to render to the screen, without creating a winform?

You always need a window. It doesn't have to be a Form, but you need a window.

And that goes for full screen too. There are a bunch of Direct3D resources that are fundamentally associated with a window, so you have to provide one. It can be a simple default, it makes no difference.
