Marshall Vandruff's Animal Anatomy with Ryan Kingslien!

After doing the past couple Anatomy classes there has been a fairly large demand for Animal Anatomy. So we took that feedback and was able to get Marshall Vandruff to do a webinar on animal anatomy to see what the response is and if you guys are actually interested in a course that combined old school anatomy demonstrations and drawings with new school ZBrush anatomy demonstrations and ecorche sculpting.

In this webinar, Mashall is going to be demonstrating the old-school side of things and will talk about comparative anatomy and how we can take our understanding of human anatomy to the next level with just a few simple rules.

Its this Friday. 3/16/12, at 12pm PDT/ 3PM EDT.

Mastering Zbrush with Paul Gaboury & Ryan Kingslien!

If you've been looking to learn Zbrush then there's no better opportunity than now. You'll learn from the Zbrush master himself - Paul Gaboury, who is the Lead Application Engineer at Pixologic. Having this kind of access to someone like Paul is invaluable not to mention you get the combined might of Ryan Kingslien to help you truly understand this awesome artist's tool.

Class starts Saturday, June 2nd and registration is currently open. Hope to see you in class!
http://www.visualari...-paul-gaboury/#

Last day to register!

Today is your last chance to learn all of ZBrush's systems from the algorithms up. This is, seriously, one of the best opportunities to not only learn ZBrush but to learn how ZBrush thinks.

You have Ryan Kingslien, the old school, algorithms up guy and you've got Paul Gaboury, the new school, FiberMesh and DynaMesh guy. They've covered ZBrush since the days of Lord of the Rings, worked with every single ZBrush author, nearly every studio, and hundreds of artists in production around the globe...

This is your chance to learn ZBrush from the same guys who did everything from teach ILM how to use ZBrush for Pirates of the Caribbean to working with artists who develop the latest games such as Mass Effect 3.

Registration closes tonight at midnight and class starts tomorrow morning Saturday, June 2nd at 10AM. Don't miss this chance to dive deep into ZBrush.

Dinosaurs, Creatures and Anatomy!

WOW! We have a grouping of excellent classes literally right around the corner!

First off for you 2D artists: Artistic Anatomy and Figure Drawing, recently re-titled "Anatomy Lessons of the Masters" with Rey Bustos to continue our new LFL series (Living Freaking Legends). If you're able to take the class or not, make sure you check out the content that we have available. You'll definitely learn something new even if it's through a different perspective of the parts you currently know.

Next up is Scott Hartman's Advanced Creature Anatomy. You can tackle this class through 2D or 3D means but I suggest (as with all classes) to study with both principles for maximum results. Scott is a Paleontologist with mind numbing information on pre-historic creatures that will only excite your creative juices.

Last and certainly not least is David Krentz's Dinosaur Sculpting Class. David is one of the foremost experts on Dinosaur creation for feature films and television. With a resume that stretches the length of a scroll, you'll take away some powerful techniques from this weekend intensive class.

Choose your Class:

With the Fourth of July holiday and some bonus class content being worked on we bumped the classes back a week or so.

This weekend is your last opportunity to take advantage of enrolling with Rey Bustos and his Anatomy course or Scott Hartman's Advanced Creature Anatomy. Both start on July 10th and I'm personally looking forward to both of these classes for completely different reasons. Getting back into some 2D anatomical drawing and study with Rey is going to be a real treat. And I'm really looking forward to problem solving some creative creature anatomy with Scott's class. Information overload perhaps? Luckily these two work well together and are different enough to not completely knock me out.

Hope to see you in class and if you have any questions feel free to ask here or send to: support@visualarium.com

Thanks!

Anatomy, Character & Traditional Portraits

Anatomy R4 (Digital) - Ryan Kingslien: http://www.visualari...ryan-kingslien/
That's the topics of our three upcoming classes. Ryan Kingslien's anatomy in ZBrush class is back and updated (as always) with the newest features of ZBrush (ZBrush 4R4). We'll start with the bones and the key landmarks of the bones that will make building up the rest of the muscles easier. There's a lot of studying to do in this 10 Week Anatomy Class but it pays off.
Character Sculpting (Digital) - Kris Kosta: http://www.visualarium.com/kris-kosta/

So excited to have Kris Costa (aka Antropus) doing a class with us and a free webinar this Saturday the 18th! There really is just too much to list that he's done and at such an excellent level of quality. From Pan's Labrynth, Rango, Tranformers DotM to The Avengers. Any aspiring character artists should not miss this. Also check out more of Kris' work at: http://www.antropus.com/artblog/

Constructing the Portrait (Traditional) - Karen Cope: http://www.visualarium.com/karen-cope/
I've personally had the great pleasure of learning from Karen for a short time and I just can't say enough about her as a person, a teacher and a sculptor. You'll learn a lot from her and it will be fun and encouraging all along the way. Classically trained at the Florence Academy in Florence Italy, Karen has techniques from the old masters to share in this 5 Week portrait class.

Looking forward to seeing you in class!

Karen Cope Free Webinar "Constructing the Portrait"
We're having a free webinar tomorrow (Thursday, September 14th at 10AM Los Angeles time) with Karen Cope to precede the start of her Master Class: Constructing the Portrait. So sign up and check out what Karen has to share. It's pretty tough to find instructors of this level, specifically with this kind of traditional, old master techniques. You would have to study abroad for years in Italy to get this kind of training. I would love to do that myself but it's a heavy commitment and I like my studio.
Also check out "The Tour" to see some more of what we'll be covering in class.
Happy Sculpting!

Visualarium: Jordu Schell Creature & David Lesperance Environment

Creature Design for Film - Jordu Schell & Ryan Kingslien: http://www.visualari.../jordu-schell/#
Traditional meets Digital in this unique master class with Jordu Schell and Ryan Kingslien. Designer, Sculptor, VFX legend Jordu Schell will be taking you through his secrets of Creature Design working in traditional clay and techniques while Ryan Kingslien shadows Jordu in ZBrush.

Environment Modeling - David Lesperance: http://www.visualari...id-lesperance/#
This is our first Environment class at Visualarium and we're kicking it off with a bang! We're honored to have David Lesperance doing an Environment Modeling class hot off of finishing up production on Halo 4. Sign up for the webinar this coming week and join us for a sneak peak inside the class.

Looking forward to seeing you in class!
