Hi there fellows,

First, pardon my English.

The newbie question is on behalf on my friend who's 2 days from her student project
deadline, and has no time for this part of research left.
Project is about coming up with an application for the gesture recognition.
She came up with some composing music through shapes game.
She's 2d artist and has little knowledge of other IT areas.
Part of the project is making a proper business plan for developing
and launching the software.

So, how would someone approach this? How do you plan and calculate such
venture?
My research so far was so fruitless that any help will be most welcome;)

Thanks a lot in advance.

You figure out how many people you need, you estimate how long they'll work, you calculate how much that would cost. Then you add in other costs as needed:
Equipment
Software
Office space
etc. - see http://www.sloperama.com/advice/lesson29.htm for more about writing a business plan. And of course, see also http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+write+a+business+plan

Video games business plan has nothing different from any other business plan, the only difference is this, your product are the games you create... all the rest is same as any other plan, show the market, competition, present product, competitive edges, create a marketing plan, sales forecast and then financial plan. Games are your products thats all.
