Tangible controller

Hi, I am new in this field and I trying of make something like this Tangible controller with microcontrollers for a college project. The problem is that I don't know what game engine to use that can manage a controller that I going to make. I don't know much about game developing so is going to be a very simple game, the important is show the controller working.
