Say u created your own company name but u are unsure if it already exists, how would u check it? Is there a web site listing registered company/business names?

Well the first thing that you could do is do a web search online with Google (that''s just the engine I prefer) for the name you want and see if there''s anything for it.

If that turns up nothing, than you may want to see if the name you want has been trademarked. Some companies take the extra step of trademarking their name for extra protection. Search that at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. It would suck to get in a trademark battle - those things are downright nasty !
