Hello, and thanks for looking at my post here. I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in helping develop a game. Now, in some past posts, I have been really exact, and said exactly what I wanted, and well, generally I was being picky So, today, I am going to try a different tact. The game in question is called Topia 9. Topia 9 is an Isometric Sci-Fi/Action/RPG game, where the player plays an Commander in an Alien race, who wants revenge for the wrongs that have been done to him. Now, recently, I have seen quite a few posts advertising all this crap, like I am, but they really don’t have a design at all. I, however, have the start of a Design Doc (50 pgs) and most of the basics are already complete. If you have any questions of the Design, or want to review the design doc before telling me you’ll help, feel free to e-mail me. On the subject of money, don’t expect any. If near completion, we decide to sell it, so be it, and everyone will get even profits. However, I wouldn’t suggest to join just for any money that might come our way… Look below for who we need right now: -Programmers: We need programmers that have some experience with programming Isometric games with DX7 or DX8. You don’t need tons of experience, but you should have enough so you can just program whatever the team needs. -Design: Well, I have the basics of the Design worked out, but I am thinking some more help would be great. As an Asst. Designer, you would work on Character Design, Weapons and Enemies, Level design, and that sort of thing. If there is a specific subject within design you would like to help with, feel free to just ask. -Web Design: If any seasoned webmasters have some free time, I could sure use someone to create a Website and promote our game of it… E-mail me if interested Of course, if I forgot any positions that you would like to help with, e-mail me, and I probably will be glad to have you. One other thing, we already have a Techno/Sci-fi/metal band with some music they are making for us, but that is only if nothing better comes along. -Artists: We need anyone who has good artistic talent. Right now you will need to do concept art mainly, but later you will be needed for more. Thanks a bunch and I hope to hear from you soon! Comeon people, I have only got a few replies by e-mail, and none on the board. I realize that most people are hesitant about getting into big projects, but think of it like this: You can join to only help for two months. Then you can leave, and I can find more people to pick up where you left off. Off course, this means we need clear, well commented code, but it can be done!!

Reply, I beg of you!

Think like this..
This i a abitious project, and ive seen many of thoose posts with ambitious projects, this may also be your first projet, so its better to start out simple and then work your way up.. thats what everyone has to do.. i belive thats why you dont get so many replies..

Maybe you could show some of your previous work to prove that you can accomplish a large scale project..

As much as I appreciate your support ( ) that has nothing to do with this. If I would have had more support, I would have even started the book. If you remember my posts about that, it will still an idea. What work should I show? i really dont think it has anything to do with this, thats what the desig ndoc is for. If you dont have anything about the project, just dont post

What i REALLY meant is that you could show some previous accomplishements to show or prove the world that youre ready for such a project, to show them that youve got talent.. Thats what i call a tip, and that has nothing to do with wheter i know anything about your design document at all..
No offence..

No offence taken, although I dont agree. What do you mean by experience? Yes, thisa is the first game project I have STARTED and designed by myself, but I have helped on many others. That is what the design doc is for (in my opinion). I want people to read the design doc, and say, whoa, that sounds cool!

IMV: Really, your post is almost laughable. What other sci-fi rpg games? If there are, they arnt around here, and even if they are, so what? It will have planty of things that other games dont have.

Also, I really would like a webmaster, so if anyone knows what they are doing, give me an e-mail.

Design, for all its beauty, counts for absolutely nothing if there''s no skill to translate it to reality. If you can''t show that you can achieve this design, why should we pay attention?

That''s why employers ask for references and/or a portfolio when hiring; that''s why colleges ask to see your grades and transcripts when admitting, and so on.

And yet, those collages, and those jobs have nothing to do with a game project that is for FUN. If your that worried about it, dont help, its as simple as that.

These people are just trying to help you out, since it seems by your second post in this thread that you don''t understand why you aren''t getting as many replies as you''d like.

It appears that some people on this board think you have a slight problem with follow-through, given the volume and nature of your previous postings. We''re just trying to invite you to prove those people wrong.

Whatever, how about this, unless you want to join, dont post. I notice everyone who wants to help is e-mailing me... Keep doing so.
