Hello , must say i am not asking for the normal graphic designers but those that are in the game industry.

Game Art and so on...

----------------

Im thinking to get back in the game industry cause creating assets for it is more fun than creating an business website , but the thing is that on the other industries you`re getting paid more as graphic designer (as in my experience).

That is my portfolio : www.neroxtm.deviantart.com/gallery/ ( As you see on page 2 where i started firstly everything was game releated but after i`ve seen that i am receiving more $ from the other industries i have started creating business websites.

I really like designing games and so on , but after the payment is so low and also the time spend on creating game assets is 20x times more than creating clean business layout.

Just for your information, "Game Designers" do not create art as in graphics. In the Games Industry, Game Designers are responsible for designing and drafting the gameplay systems, i.e. game rulesets, game progression, controls, level structures, puzzles, gameplay systems, etc.

Someone who creates game art (as in visual arts) in the Games Industriy is not called Game Designer, but Artists.

As to your question whether artists in the game industry are paid nicely, I can only give the unsatisfying answer: it depends. It depends on where (which country, which area, which company) as well as your personal circumstances (experienced/senior, novice/junior, etc.).

If you compare it to graphic designers in other industries, obviously in some industries you will be paid more as an artist. But I think money should be only as far a concern as that you can make a living with it. Don't base your decision purely on how much money you can earn (as long as you earn enough to get by without much worrying). Job satisfaction is a value that cannot really be measured in money, but it only takes effect if you earn enough to not worry about money.

Gamasutra has annual salary surveys that can be illuminating. Here's the 2014 results. Just keep in mind the sample bias (particularly with respect to location).
