I downloaded DX8.1 yesterday and tried to install it. What do I see on the screen - "error in .cab file". Now does that p*** you off or what. Even worse the fact I got the file from www.microsoft.com Any suggestions of a way of correcting this? Indy. PS Don''t fancy another 11 meg download.

Maybe it''s because you''re missing another 114 megs. The SDK size is actually 135 megs in size.

Do not forget to uninstall your DX8.0 SDK (or any other DX SDK) if you have it currently installed

Thats not bad.

I downloaded the whole DirectX 8.0 SDK on my 33.6 modem (all 140mbs of it) and it didn''t work. So instead, I just got my parents (who have a credit card) to order it for me for Christmas.

I managed to install it without uninstalling previous ones.
In my thunking device, what happens to the inherited pointer to the original base class when I override the function & how do I access it in my inline assembly code, assuming that we are referencing the higher byte of the 16-bit variable?
