I just got this DVD drive. I knew it wasn''t much when I bought
it. Everything installed fine. However I noticed when I run
a movie in it the picture looks like crap. I had to sell all
my stuff like my TV DVD player awhile back so I have a couple
of dozen movies I''d like to watch, but It looks like shit.
It apears way over compressed and the density is very flat.
I''ve watched movies on friends PCs before and the image was fine.
VHS looks way better than what I''m getting. I don''t know if its
the drive or what. I''m affraid to ext it for a better drive and
have the same problem and spend more money. Is it posible that
the drive is further compressing the data before transfering
it to the sys to speed up transfer rates or something? I''m
running in 32 bit color so to few colors is not the prob.
lowed the screen res to lessen the affect but come on.
I guess all I''m looking for is. Can the drive afect the playback
quality? Has anyone had and solved such a problem? I''ve seen all
these movies before and this is way way not the same. Oh yah
I''ve used both the PowerDVD software program and my ATI onboard
decoder with the same result.
