I am looking for a team 2-5 other people who would be willing to start making a 3D game with me using either DX7 or 8. The type of genre is not important and I would be very open to any suggestions. The only thing I ask is that the people who are willing to get together be either either experienced in making 3D games or have a very broad knowledge of it. Also I am not interested in joining a team that has already got together so please don''t ask. If you would be interested simply reply with an email address, a brief summary of your skills, and any ideas for a game you may have been toying with. ~Thanks Vendayan@hotmail.com

Maybe I should say that I''m not interested in joining a team that already has a project started. I want to be able to choose the project as a team.

And they/we require the same of you.

Fascinating!

Kindly also state yours.

Okay, I''ll stop being sarcastic for a minute... why should I join you? You don''t point to any portfolio, you don''t state your skills, and you don''t even have an idea for the project! (Trust me, the "let''s choose as a team" rhetoric is a waste of time; one person usually provides the drive for a project, so that person better have a firm idea in mind). Choosing as a group can be a very time-consuming process, and anything that delays the start of development is bad for an independent/hobbyist project.

My synopsis therefore is that you''re not setting realistic goals. Look through the archives of [Help Wanted] and you''ll find tons of posts exactly like yours - most without a single answer. You''ll also find the frequent piece of advice: people are more likely to gravitate to you if you have something to show.

On the other hand, many people really don''t have the skills or necessary drive, so if you do have something to show you may not get a single reply! Ah, life...

Good luck anyway.

It is hard to put together a team, especially online, people tend not to take it to seriously (Hi to expelled and former team members). But you have to have substance and a goal. You don''t have to give away compeltely everything. Hardest part is people have lives. They need an income so it takes a while. Just don''t let the knocks get to you and keep getting back at the batting crease (a cricket term)..
