Got a quick question. I was using depend on an app I''m working on and just happened to look through the 881 ordinals of it when I ran across something that stumped me. I''m running WinMe and I found a function in my kernal32.dll that''s called CreateNamedPipe. Now I thought that function was not available in Win9x, did this change with WinMe? So I checked my MSDN (April 2001) and this was the requirements for CreateNamedPipe()
Requirements
Windows NT/2000 or later: Requires Windows NT 3.1 or later.
Windows 95/98/Me: Unsupported.
Header: Declared in Winbase.h; include Windows.h.
Library: Use Kernel32.lib.
Unicode: Implemented as Unicode and ANSI versions on Windows NT/2000.
Clearly states that it is unsupported. But dependency walker clearly shows that the function exists... Does this mean that it is there and simply non-functional or does it mean that I could dynamically load kernal32.dll and grab the function and use it... Does anyone know on this one? It could really change the way some of my apps work if this works
(doubt it will of course)
