hi!
here I am again...with another of my problems
I''ve succeded in fast loading of .ASE files exported directly from 3d studio max, and it all works well in ''bout 25-30 fps...
at that speed I can draw about 15 000 polys, but I''ve been warned that if I''d use GL_TRIANGLE_STRIP instead of GL_TRIANGLES I''d get much better results...
now, when I export my scene from 3d max into an .ASE file and load an face array, every face is defined with 3 vertices and it looks like this:
0 2 3 (first triangle/face)
3 1 0 (second triangle/face)
1 3 7
7 5 1
4 5 7
.
.
.
etc.
now I can make an triangle strip from the first two faces ''cause they''ve got two vertices in common, but I can''t make an algorythm for making an triangle strip from all of them...
I know I should use first face, and then a single vertex for every other, but I can''t put the faces in order...
can someone help me, please?
have you ever had a similar problem and if you had, how did you solve it?
help, I''m desperate!!
