Does anyone know of any good books for someone that has never programmed AI before? Affordable would be nice, too. I looked all over Amazon.com and found nothing for extreme beginners in this topic, and nothing less than like $100. Does Trips of the Windows Game Programming Gurus start off with AI at all? Thanks! I would have helped you had you not put in #2.

1.) There are maybe 10 posts I can access on this page on AI, and believe me, I''ve looked through them.

Look up. There''s a search button that let''s you search all of GameDev.net

Insulting people doesn''t make you more likely to receive help.

Sorry- I did not mean to be insulting, I''ve just put up a message like that before and I got about ten responses about how I need to stop bothering people with stupid questions. What I meant by number two was that people who are so annoyed be newbies do those things. Thanks for the advice on searching, and I just found the drop-down menu for how many posts to show. I feel really stupid now. Anyway, I meant to direct that last part at people who would respond with criticism. Now I''m going to try to edit my other message.

I didn''t see the original post, but possibly I can help. You might want to take a look at my AI book list and see if anything there might work for you. Those aren''t all beginner books by any means, but you won''t find many in any event (at least not that I now of). The Web is, frankly, the single best reference source around...
