Okay, maybe I''m late to this one, but has anyone seen these Java ads that are pasted right over webpage content as you read?!? The Star Wars website is a perfect example of this thoroughly lame a## practice! Anyone know any software to kill these ads? Websites that do this will get the three-finger-salute from me, man! I hate advertisers that try to force you to watch their stupid ads. They need to be lined up a shot in the groin! -------------------- Just waiting for the mothership...

I noticed similar ads on TechTV. I''m surprised that no one has contacted us yet asking to use them. We''d tell them no, of course.

Never had a problem with those, but I turn off all the Java and
Plugin options whenever I''m using a browser other than Lynx (I
hate Flash as well), only turning them on if there''s something I
know I want to see. Don''t think I''m missing that much either,
cuts out ads and other annoyances, and generally there''ll be
enough buzz if a flash site is actually cool enough to bother
with.
It''s sad that technologies like this are abused, but not at all
surprising. Just configure your browser to opt out.

I havent got any problems with that either, I use the Opera 6.0 browsers "refuse popups" option, apparently it turns off those java ads too.

(And it also disables spellcheck hehe, but its got a quick menu to turn it off/on so its no prob really)
