I''m looking for a simple GUI API. It must be multiplatform and OpenGL compatible. I tried a lot of libs, but they where too big or too limited. I love GLUI, but it does not support Edit Boxes with a lot of chars and french keyboards...

The worlds best GUI toolkit is ,IMHO, QT from trolltech. www.trolltech.com. If you get version 2.3 it is GPL for Unix/Linux and Non-commercial for windows. Version 3 is GPL for linux/unix, and commersial for windows, but hopefully there will be a non commersial version soon

You might want to try FOX (http://www.fox-toolkit.org). It supports both UNIX/Linux/BSD with X11, and 32-bit Windows. It''s written in C++, freely released under the LGPL (you''re able to develop commercial apps, if dynamically linked) and also has OpenGL support. I''ve found the mailing list support to be quite good, as the principle programmer replies to nearly any message posted on the lists. It''s actively maintained, and the API seems to have pretty much stablized. The documentation that comes with it is sufficient.

Another alternative is the FLTK GUI toolkit (http://www.fltk.org). It is written in C++, is also portable to UNIX/Linux/BSD with X11 and Win32, it is also released under the LGPL, and also has OpenGL support. I personally find the design to be somewhat "messy", and it''s current lack of layout managers is also a drawback.

Hopefully either of those will be of some use to you.

Thanks!

I finally choose wxWindows: it support UNIX, win32, MacOs and soon OS/2, it is very easy to use, there is a lot of usefull class (like wxWizard) and it support UNICODE and OpenGL.
