Hello Everyone My nickname is REEPER and here is my proposal. I have always been interested in programming and have made several attempts to learn the language from several tutorials. My problem is not that I don''t understand but more that I''m a hands on sort of person and I guess I need to be taught by an actual person. Therefore I have a basic understanding of C++ ,as it is the language and first want to start with, but cannot go further with anymore self teaching tutorials. This finally brings me to my proposal, if there are any C++ programmers out there who are busy with a project and need coding assistance, I would like to become their apprentice. They teach me concepts and I will work on code for them, a mutual offer. I''m am quick to learn so learning a concept won''t take long and I am willing to work. So, if there is anyone who is willing to take me on as their apprentice/understudy and help teach me I would greatly appreciate it. My email is richard.paterson@wanadoo.fr Thanks REEPER

I doubt many people will want an apprentice like that: 1 to 1 teaching is very time-consuming. If you don''t get lucky with this, perhaps you could try downloading some source code from somewhere like Sourceforge.net. That lets you dive into some ''real'' code rather than contrived tutorials.

Your best bet is probably to take a class.

Unfourtantly for you, most programmers are self taught (to some degree), and it''s more or less expected that you can pick up things on your own. (Languages, API''s, and tools will change. You need to change with them.)

Some advice then?
I''d say start with a class, if you can understand the basic concepts of computer science, you might find it easier to learn the languages of today.

Lastly, if you find yourself really interested, but are having trouble learning, you might consider adjusting you learning habits. There are university/college courses that can teach countinued learning. Look into them, younever know ;-)

well , tutorials will teach you but not that much you expect .
Maybe reading source codes will help . if you want to be tought by a person himself , stick with this forum , i think it is the best for you .

be patient with me

For all the concepts information you could possibly want read Bruce Eckels book "Thinking in C++". You can download the book in its entirety from [a href="http://www.BruceEckel.com"]www.BruceEckel.com.

He knows and can explain practically any C++ feature you will ever need and is a farseeing enough author to make the book available in its entirety on the internet. You should check it out.
