1: How do you create your own font? 2: If I load it in a program (bitmap font) then distibute it (the program), will that font load, or do they have to install the font? 3: If they ahve to install the font, how do they do that? If sombody could tell me...

You need to buy good font creation software, and even with it it is no simple task to create a font of your own. That it the extend of my knowledge on the subject. I''m not so good when it comes to system font info.

If you want to create your own custom bitmap font, you can use a paint program such as photoshop or paint shop pro.

You will also need an ASCII table handy for drawing out the characters.. ignore ASCII characters from 1-31.. 32 is the space character (pretty easy to draw this one..)65 is where the alphabet starts.

IF you are thinking about true type fonts... that''s a lot harder. You need to tell the computer how to draw shapes and bezier line curves (way beyond me).

No, actually i just wanted to make about 30 charactors, for my matrix screen saver... i was thinking a bunch of bitmaps...

well i dunno, any help would be appreciated

Oh, if your going to make that just make a bitmap with evenly spaced symbols, then use them in your program by just binding the texture and picking the area that has the symbol you want. That''s different than making a whole font.

have a look at the "Symbol" font in windows, it should be pretty easy to compile a bitmap fontlist that looks like "the matrix".

how would i go about creating a font list?? and if im doign the white then the dark green, then the neon green, do i need like 3 different font lists, all different colors?

Anotehr question, for my screen saver you will be able to set the speed of the falling of the matrix (you understand). I have a scroll bar on my MFC app thingy, and it is:
IDC_FLATSCROLLBAR4

How do i use this to control my speed?? speed is a 20 space away (for 20 spaces) so like...o you understnad i hope, how do i have it equal what the scroll bar is on?

here, some source would help im sure:

BOOL WINAPI ScreenSaverConfigureDialog(HWND hDlg, UINT message, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam)
{
switch(message)
{
case WM_COMMAND:

switch(LOWORD(wParam))
{
case IDOK:
EndDialog(hDlg, TRUE);
break;
default:
break;
}
default:
break;
}
return 0;
}

And my MFC window has 4 scroll bars below it, each that should change a different speed.

Store the speed that the user selects in the registry, and then load it when the screen saver starts up.

ok ya, if i knew how to store it in the registry i would do that! lol, you have to understand i only read the begginnger book about programming in c++, i know all the standards, the advanced book has all the crap about editing registry and crap like that. I got this error
