Have some UE4 experience with C++, some c# (outside of unity), mostly Java/JavaScript/PHP oriented background. Just looking to get more practice in the game development area. LF UE4 preferrably, but am open to anything.

Reply here and I will be in touch! Thanks

Hey Andrew, I am currently building a small team to finish up an open source 2D multiplayer game engine on top of unity that I own. If you have a little unity and c# experiemce then that is good. The only thing required of you is that you put in the time to push the project forward until completion. Email me at mheloky@gmail.com to get started immediately.

By taking part in this project you get the following:

1. A chance to work along side other developers as the team grows

2. An oppertunity to learn how to write clean code (I will be doing the code reviews).

3. An oppertunity to work with a code base that will be maintained and modified in a way similar to how they do it production level environments

4. A chance to complete a simple project in 1-1.5 months.

I literally don't have any unity experience. Just a few weeks of c#, but it's coming along nicely seeing as how my background is java/javascript oriented. c# feels like a Mashup of the two.

If you still think I can contribute, then I will download unity and start taking a look around.

Up to you.

About 1-2 years, 3 years JavaScript. 3 years PHP. Languages come pretty easily, I think the learning curve would be more focused on getting to know Unity.

Ya thats fine - syntactically c# and java have many similarities. Can you email me at mheloky@gmail.com and we can chat there?

I started a "community driven" game development kit. other than me there are only 2 other developers on the project. It's written in C++ wit OpenGL core profile. Great application to learn low level graphics rendering with. Anyone is free to join and contribute. I will be setting up installation instructions for windows, mac, and linux (ubuntu and arch bases) this weekend. If you're interested, https://gitlab.com/oddly-doddly/salem-gdk I also just started filling out the wiki. So there's some content in there too. I've been working on it for about 4 to 5 months now.
