OK, This is weird. Running VC++ 6.0, I press F1 for the context sensitive help (MSDN). It was working fine, I closed down the MSDN window, pressed F1 again, and my machine went balls up!
I''m using W2K.
It turns out that HH.EXE (HTML Help) was using 250 Mb Ram, and using 99% of the CPU. Everything else runs like a 386.
Has anyone else had this problem? I''ve reverted to and older (original W2K version) of HH.EXE, rather than the one that comes with SP2, but it still does the same!
I can use the help only by running MSDN seperately, which is bloody SLOW, then pressing F1 in VC++, then killing the original HH.EXE in task manager.
I''m lost!
Another thing. I reinstalled W2K less than 2 weeks ago - I''d rather not have to do this again!
Cheers
