Im trying to write a 2d DirectX 7 game. It compiles fine and after excuting changes to full screen and 640 X 480 resoultion in 16 bit. Then I get one of those illegal operation messages. When I click "debug" it stops on "lpDDSPrimary->SetClipper(lpClip);" saying that it is an access voliation. lpDDSPrimary is correctly set up as is lpClip. Can anyone help?

Properly set up you say ? Have you checked that the call that "sets them up" didn''t fail ?

Check to make sure lpDDSPrimary and lpClip arent NULL.
