I know this will mean a lot of work, but besides the basic information you need about how things work in every aspect of life every day. I suggest That when you write about a character and you choose a profession for him. Try to learn something about that profession by reading a book or if you''re in luck watching a movie or a documentary. Just to add that little extra and to avoid your characters to do stupid things.
Suggestions for inspiration?
