We are currently making a tile based isometric RPG engine in C++ (Object Orientated). Our problem is this: When we try and terminate the program, it hangs and the computer must be restarted. All the objects and surfaces have been released and nullified in the correct order. We implement the backbuffer by siomply having an offscreen surface which gets bltted to the primary surface. The problem only happens when we blt to the entire primary surface, even if one column or row isn''t used it is fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

You don''t mention if you''re using the DirectDraw blitter...

You''ll want to do this anyway, but make sure there''s a clipper (or your own clipping code) for both the front- and back-buffers.
