..Or rather if you were to make a 2D RPG engine similar to RPG maker what would you add that it doesn't have , what would you change about it , or what would you do differently? For those that use it what about it don't you like or what about it would you change?
I'm making my own 2d orthogonal cross platform RPG engine. I was originally making it for portfolio project to land a developer job., but I got to thinking maybe I could sell this too. So, now I'm wondering what features RPG maker doesn't have that you'd like to see in a RPG game engine or what features that RPG maker has that need to be done differently or better. Also I currently have complex zelda style combat in my engine would adding Final Fantasy style combat be useful(I personally think that style of combat sucks) ?
