Hello everyone. I have been having a problem with my volume control lately. I have windows 2K and every time I play a computer game, or a song that I''m listening to is finished, my "Volume Control"''s "Wave Balance" Turns itself all the way down. This happens every time. I have checked the properties window and everything, and there is nothing there (pertaining to my problem). It''s very frusterating because (for example) I''ve got a bunch of files waiting to be played in winamp and after one is done playing, I have to go in and manualy turn it back up. What can I do to change this permanantly? This just started happening to me about a week ago, and I''ve had my computer running the same as it is now, for about 4 months, and it never used to do this before. ANY help is appreciated! _BUSTER_ PS: I am using winamp right now, and I just had to reset the volume again. www.dotspot.cjb.net ______________________________ Check out my for sale domain name! http://www.theatermonkey.com

I would venture to say there is a small imp residing inside your computer and it is trying to drive you into insanity by performing this phenomenon. I would suggest that you take a large pail of water and drown the bugger next time he tries something funny. Don’t worry; all computers are waterproof now, thanks to your friends at Microsoft.

Seriously, I don''t know why this would occur, but then again weird things often happen for no reason. To this day I cannot change the four-speaker volume anywhere in any of my settings so my computer will only get so loud. Midi''s don''t play to well because of that.

I''ve got the same problem with my volume control, so I tried MrDude''s suggestion and now all of my text files are waterlogged. Even the little Notepad icon has wrinkled and turned yellow. I''m going to put it underneath a heavy icon, in hopes that it''ll dry straight, but I don''t know what I''m going to do about the mildew. Damn you, MrDude, damn you.
