Pitching a new game

Hello everyone!

I have a concept for a game that I may be interested in looking for funding for and wanted some advice.

What are things that I definitely should include in my pitch to bring people in?

What are things that I should absolutely avoid so as to not scare people away?

Where are the best places to reach out for crowd-sourcing?

I'm also interested in everyone's thoughts in general about crowd-sourcing vs going to a publisher.

Thanks!

going to a publisher.

That's not likely to get you where you want to go with your concept. I wrote two articles about why (FAQ 1 and FAQ 11), and I wrote one about how to submit to a publisher (FAQ 21) if you insist on trying anyway.

Lastly, when you say “crowd-sourcing” shall we assume you mean crowdfunding? Check out the Games Business and Law forum (this has been moved there - scroll up and click “Back to Games Business and Law”) to see other questions people have asked about crowdfunding, and the responses they got.
