Hya all! Can anyone point me to a tuorial or something that describes the use of 2d surfaces in direct3d (dx8). I''ve made all my stuff in dx5''s directdraw but i cant seem to figure out how to solve the "antialias" problem (everything looks boringly pixeled) and I thought i might solve this problem by setting some kind of harware antialias on it to smooth it out (any other suggestions are welcome). I bought this book for a fortune but the guy seems to be obsesed about 3d and doesn''t even describe 2d plzzz! .Pangplast

There really aren''t surfaces in D3D per-se.... but you can make believe there are There are textures which you can apply to a textured quad when you reder it. That''s all very confusing isn''t it? Well here''s an article that makes it fairly easy:

This will give you the functionality of a 2D blit in DX8. Also, none of this will automatically anti-alias. You''re going to have to give all your pictures an alias layer in order to get them to alias correctly in 2D.
