I just wanted to ask something, I can get a copy of "Programming Windows"(fifth edition) by Charles Petzold. Is it a good book? And can I use it with c++, because I read somewhere that it was for C?

It is a great book if you''re already a C/C++ programmer but want to learn the ins and outs of doing Win32 API coding. It is C based because the Win32 API itself is all C based...

However, you can easily use the Win32 API in C++ programs (without using MFC, etc), so its a good book even for C++ programmers.

Of course this book itself doesn''t teach anything about C++ (or even C, for that matter)...You have to go into it already knowing the language.

I recently got that book and I love it. With a basic grasp of C++ you should be up and running in no time.
