This is partly why the site is dying, Tom Sloper

Are you for real? This is some absolutely ridiculous "moderation". Zeinokko posts two blogs, both of which were decently written and not spammy, and you feel it's necessary to enforce a silly rule of 7 days between blogs. I know for a fact I've personally posted two blogs in two days last year and had no such warning.

Zeinokko then acknowledges the rule, says sorry, and you feel the need to warn a total of 3 times? Get a life, man. This is at least the second time I've had to call you out for being mean to new members. The thing this site needs most is new active members, and you're doing everything you can to drive them away… I'm only still coming here out of 20 years of habit.

Um - looks like users being more mean to mod than the other way around? /:D\

But agree the moderation was kept short. Explanation about the delay also giving better visibility to the user might have been good.

The Blogs board displays only 10 listings at a time, and when someone decides to come here and blog daily (or multiple times a week), it soon looks to newcomers like there's just one or two guys blogging. And I believe I have softened my tone considerably. Sorry @aressera feels differently. In the screen cap above, the new person asked if he could flood the board with stuff he previously posted somewhere else. I could have just answered “no,” and maybe I should have. I think the Blogs board looks very nice, very diverse, with the one week rule. Same for the Projects board.

I see both sides, but I think the rule is dumb, but for a different reason: The forum software should handle however somebody wants to post w/o restrictions, and still not appear as-if the news post is flooded by the same guy.
Just imagine from the view of a content-creator, how this looks. What if Youtube were like “oh sorry you cannot post a new video until 7 days have passed, otherwise it may seem as if the same person is the only one posting”. That would be mighty silly. I do mean this fully constructively - I see why the current system would require such a rule, but it should be changed. Maybe have the news-section only display the latest entry from one blog. You know, something that makes artifically restricting the amount of posts unnecessary, while still allowing all blogs to be seen.

If that's not possible, at the very least the system should enforce this automatically. Having a mod have to enforce this rule is pretty silly. If posting more than once every 7 days is not allowed, then simply, when you try to publish too many posts, the system should tell you “Due to diversity on the news-page, you cannot post another blog post until X:XX:XX). This takes out the human factor of a mod like Tom having to consider how he deals with people, and other people like Aressera (or the person being ”targeted") getting offended by that.

Good feedback. I'll have this change shortly. Users should be able to post as often as they'd like, but the home page doesn't necessarily need to reflect every update.
