The core of the game is a survivor-like where the player casts spells that need to be readied in a more tactile way before casting. Currently that system is a shameless rip of Invoker from Dota 2 (even currently stealing the UI as placeholder) but this is open to change if something more unique is ever suggested. Below are some images and a very short video of what it currently looks like. If you're not familiar with Invoker his mechanic is that using Q,W,E in various combination (order doesn't matter) you will be able to queue up to 2 different spells (out of 10) with various utility and damage. The levelling and mechanics I always thought lend themselves well for this kind of game but of course if keeping the central idea but changing things to make them more interesting or unique is possible I am open to it.
Goals of the project:
Make it playable and reasonable polished.
This is more towards ending up being a portfolio project/practice of making something from start to finish rather than aiming for a release. If it can get there great but that is not the expectation. Any money made would be shared evenly.
What I'm looking for:
People who want to learn and improve at game dev. Coding and game design are my main areas of interest but I would love for someone else to come in a give feedback and suggest/implement improvements so I can learn.
We have coders but more experienced people (have made a project before lvl) are always welcome.
I have a super basic design doc as well for documentations sake, I know what the minimum and maximum scope of work I would hope for are and my expectations are minimal so there is no pressure.
